AppSorter 2 Great News!

I am happy to announce, that the AppSorter 2 would not require root permissions anymore!
I've just found the proper way to manipulate TouchWiz settings, not via accessing it's database file. So, I'm working hard to implement that great feature into the upcoming release!
Sorry for the delay, I'm trying to do my best.

AppSorter 2 News

AppSorter 2 development is in progress now and here are some news about it.

I've decided to create a totally configurable application behavior, including sorting options, advanced settings such as path to database, database access method, some system-specific settings (busybox, toolbox, etc.).

Such configuration should help users to tune AppSorter if it doesn't work correctly and make my life easier. No more stopper bugs if Samsung's decided to change database path or you do not have busybox installed. Everything would have a workaround through the manual settings.

Of course, all the code is rewritten from scratch. I'm using AppSorter 1.x code only as a reference, no copy-paste. The new version would be much more clear and simple inside (KISS, yep), that should improve it's speed and stability!

I think, I'm going to release something usable in two weeks!

Unfortunately the latest update doesn't fix database access error on Galaxy S2.

I hope I'll find out the solution and fix it in the nearest future.

TouchWiz AppSorter 2

I've decided to completely rewrite TouchWiz AppSorter from scratch and to add more useful functionality.

All the features available in the latest AppSorter version would be implemented.

Expected new features:

  • configurable application behavior;
  • ability to sort newly installed apps automatically;
  • setting TW default home screen;
  • backup and restore TW settings (desktop layout, menu layout);
  • maybe, using some undocumented TW features.

Coming soon!
